Police were called to Rainhill last night
ARMED police were called to Rainhill last night after reports a man had been spotted with a gun.
Concerned residents saw police marksmen stop a Ford Fiesta on Longton Lane at around 7.30pm on Sunday, March 10 before surrounding the car.
Merseyside Police confirmed there had been a report that a man "had been sighted with a gun".
A police spokesperson said: "A Ford Fiesta was stop searched.
"However, no weapons were recovered and no arrests were made."
