A police helicopter was deployed earlier today
A MAN has been arrested after a car using cloned number plates was traced in St Helens following a police helicopter search.
The car was flagged on Merseyside Police's Automatic Number Plate Recognition as using cloned plates this morning and National Police Air assisted in finding the vehicle a short while later at 10am on Talbot Close, St Helens.
Police say the driver and another person made off from the car on foot.
A man was arrested in connection with the incident.
