MERSEYSIDE Police says it is recruiting new officers.

The force is welcoming applications from budding police officers.

In a post via social media Merseyside Police said: "We are the best performing metropolitan force in the country and to maintain this, we need officers who can think on their feet, work independently and as a team, and thrive in tough and unpredictable circumstances.

"If you think you've got what it takes to prevent crime, pursue offenders and protect people, we want to hear from you.

"We welcome applications from all. We are also interested in hearing from those who have military experience as we think those transferable skills could help the force and our communities".
