THE owners of the Ravenhead Retail Park say they are in "positive discussions" with retailers over the units next to the new Marks and Spencer's store.

M&S's new two-storey store is due to open in March in a unit that formerly housed a giant Curry's electrical store.

Developers have divided the spacious building, meaning there is space for other shops to become neighbours to M&S.

Speculation about the future of those units next to the new M&S site emerged last week after an artist's impression of the store showed a "home store" in the unit next door.

Retail operator Hammerson, which owns the retail park, say that the drawing was simply "artistic licence" and that they are still to secure occupiers.

However, a Hammerson spokesperson admitted it is in "positive discussions" regarding those units.
