THE proud uncle of a seven-year-old cancer fighter has set himself an enormous challenge.

Jacob Smith, from Dentons Green, was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of four – and has been fighting the disease ever since.

His uncle Chris Smith, 27, has taken on events in the past to raise funds for Cancer Research.

And this year, inspired by his nephew’s fight, he plans to take on 25 10ks runs and two half marathons.

Chris, also from Dentons Green, said: “I decided to do this for Jacob because no one should go through what he has and I hope any money raised will go towards helping others.

“My family are all getting behind me, my dad’s business is even sponsoring me, and my partner Nik who has been helping me with all of this because she’s been amazing creating webpages and getting people involved to help me out.

“It is a big challenge but Jacob is worth it and I hope to make him proud.”
