TWO men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Prescot station car park.

The robbery happened at 2.45pm on Monday, January 28 where a G4S worker was threatened by a masked man with a hammer, a quantity of cash was taken during the incident.

A 35-year-old man from Knowsley and a 34-year-old man from Huyton were each arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

Both men have since been released under police investigation while enquiries continue.

Detectives investigating the robbery are continuing to appeal for information and are looking to speak to any witnesses who saw a five door silver VW Polo acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Prescot railway station, before, during or after the robbery took place.
