GOLFERS are being offered the opportunity to play at a Ryder Cup host course.

Grange Park Golf Club, on Prescot Road, is offering the chance to enter a tournament series, with the prize a one-night stay at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

The Grange Park Summer Series – The Road to Celtic Manor is an event which is open to both members and visitors and gives competitors the chance to play for a one-night stay at Celtic Manor in Newport for four people.

The prize includes dinner, bed and breakfast and two rounds of golf, including at the famous course which hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Manager at Grange Park John Jackson said: "This event is something completely different to what any other golf club is doing and we’re planning on attracting hundreds of golfers to take part to win such a good prize.

"There’ll be three Stableford events over the course of the summer, the top 10 from each event will qualify for the final and get to play in the final for free."

The first event is Wednesday, May 15, the second Wednesday, July 24 and the third event is Wednesday, August 21.

The final will be held on Wednesday, September 18.

The winner of the final will claim the overall prize.

The event is sponsored by Golfbreaks.com, who are providing the prize.
