SAINTS got their Super League season off to a cracking start with a 22-12 win over champions Wigan Warriors.
Just to recap a crowd of more than 16,500 braved the bitterly cold weather to pack in to see Alex Walmsley make his first Super League appearance since breaking his neck, and there were senior debuts for Lachlan Coote, Kevin Naiqama and Joseph Paulo.
Naiqama got the ball rolling with a well-taken try, and Jonny Lomax doubled the lead after backing up a Dom Peyroux break.
After Wigan had levelled with a Ben Flower barge over and a Liam Marshall intercept, Saints dug deep in the second half.
And a tight finish from Regan Grace and a match sealer from James Roby ensured Saints took the spoils.
Bernard Platt captured all of the action - have a look through the gallery.
