AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a 34-year-old man whose body was found at woodland at the site of the former Sutton Manor Colliery.
Police attended an area off Jubits Lane, Sutton Manor on the afternoon of Friday, November 30, 2018 after reports that a body of a man had been found by a member of the public.
The man has been identified as Paul John Ward, 34, of Chandlers Way, Sutton Manor.
Paul was described in an obituary, which was placed in the Star following his passing as "Loving son to May and Paul, loving brother to Jem, Ste and Mandy, loving grandson to Lal. Will be sadly missed by all his family and friends".
Police said the death is not suspicious and the matter has been passed on to the coroner.
An inquest has been opened, which is subject to medical reports.
