A man has died following a crash in Bolton.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and car on Belmont Road at around 4.45pm on Thursday December 20, 2018.

A 52-year-old man was rushed to hospital after the collision with a grey Ford Focus but died of his injuries yesterday.

The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers following the crash and no arrests have been made.

PC Louise Warhurst, of Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.

“We have a dedicated team of officers who are continuing to piece together the circumstances in the lead up to this incident.

“I would urge anyone who saw the pedestrian or Ford Focus at around the time of the collision to please get in touch with police as you may be able to assist our enquiries.”

Police have urged any witnesses to come forward.
