ONE person was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a flat.
Firefighters were called to Elton Head Road on Friday night (January 11) to deal with the blaze which left a kitchen seriously damaged and light damage in the rest of the property.
Crews were alerted just after 10pm and two fire engines attended.
On arrival, crews found a fire in the kitchen of a ground floor flat.
Crews wore breathing apparatus as they entered the property under rapid deployment and used a CO2 extinguisher before ventilating the property.
All occupants were out of the property when crews arrived.
The fire service says one person was assessed at the scene before being taken to hospital for "precautionary checks".
Firefighters were at the property for around one hour.
