POLICE are requesting CCTV footage or stills from the public after a spate of recent thefts from cars.

Over the weekend, police said they had received reports of thefts from Knowsley Road, Eccleston and Boundary Road.

Officers have also said there have been similar incidents reported from the Cunningham Grange estate, Eccleston.

In a statement St Helens Police said: "Due to a recent spate of theft from motor vehicle offences around Cunningham Grange and other nearby housing estates we are requesting anyone in possession of CCTV stills or moving footage forward them to St Helens local policing team.

"If you are aware of any footage please forward your details to the direct message service on our (Facebook) page and we will get back to you.

"Always remember, keep your vehicle locked when unattended. Keep valuable items out of sight, remove if possible".
