EARLESTOWN band The K's is set to sell out Manchester Academy after receiving increasing recognition for their cool sound.

The four-piece band, Jamie Boyle, Ryan Breslin, Dexter Baker and Jordan Holden, have only been together a year, but following the hype from their debut single, Sarajevo are now filling top venues such as Manchester Academy which they were play on, Friday, January 25.

The band fronted by 23-year-old Jamie, was started with his childhood friend Dexter while they were at St Aelred's Technology College, with Ryan and Jordan – the only member not from the borough – joining them recently.

They credit hometown support for their quick success – and often book coaches to bring their loyal fanbase to their gigs.

Jamie said: "Since January last year it's just got off to a great start and we have 10 tracks just waiting to be recorded, it's an exciting time for us.

"We are absolutely blown away by the fact Manchester Academy is almost sold out, we couldn't believe it because every Manchester gig we've done so far has sold out. We are really grateful.

"We love where we come from, and the amazing support from home but it's exciting to add to our fans with getting gigs like this which have a good response and it's amazing to get this recognition."
