A WOMAN who was knocked down by a car on Christmas Eve has died, police have confirmed.
The 32-year-old pedestrian, who was in collision with a red Suzuki car on the St Helens Linkway East, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
The incident took place shortly before 2.30pm on the road which is near the St Helens Retail Park and the KFC restaurant.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is continuing to assist police with enquiries.
Sergeant Mike Clarey of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this incident and are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have dash-cam footage or may have stopped to assist, and would ask anyone with any information to contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting reference 0539 of 24.12.18, or the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747.”
