A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of grooming after a sting by a so-called paedophile hunter group.
The group posted footage online on Sunday as they confronted a man in Eccleston.
In a statement, Merseyside Police confirmed that at around 10.20am on Sunday, January 6, a call was received requesting that officers attend a property in Eccleston, following allegations of a sexual offence.
A 38-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of attempting to meet a girl under 16 years of age following grooming.
He was taken to a police station where he was interviewed by detectives and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
