A 27-YEAR-OLD woman arrested following a domestic dispute in Haydock has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm is still under arrest in hospital, following treatment for injuries sustained during the incident, but will be questioned by officers when he is discharged.

Police and ambulance crews attended a property at Orchard Court, near Clipsley Lane, Haydock at around 1.20pm on Saturday, December 5 to reports of a stabbing.

A 39-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, who it is believed had been involved in a domestic dispute, were treated by North West Ambulance Service.

The woman, who sustained head injuries, was taken to hospital for treatment and was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

She has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The injured male, who has suffered stab wounds, has undergone surgery.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have information which could help them with their inquiries to come forward.

Crime Scene Investigators are currently carrying out forensic examinations at the scene and house-to-house inquiries are underway.
