ST HELENS Council has released a list of drop-off points at which residents can leave their Christmas trees for recycling.
From Saturday, January 5, until Sunday, January 20, people can drop off their real Christmas trees for recycling at the following locations:
•Sutton Park on Marina Avenue
•Victoria Park on Bishop Road
•Sankey Valley Visitors Centre car park
•Mesnes Park on Park Road North car park
•Taylor Park at Grosvenor Road car park
Residents can also make use of the borough’s Household Waste Recycling Centres, which are open every day from 8am until 5pm during winter.
These are located on Burtonhead Road in the town centre; Junction Lane, Newton-le-Willows; and Tasker Terrace in Rainhill.
Alternatively, residents who subscribe to the garden waste collection service can have their tree collected in their green bin.
The council says garden waste collections will resume on the week of Monday, February 4 after the winter break, on normal calendar collection days.
Residents are asked to ensure that if they use the garden waste service to collect their tree, that it is broken down sufficiently and can fit inside the green bin.
