A FATHER and two daughters will be taking on a world record attempt from Lands End to John O'Groats on a three seater bike all in aid of brain tumour fighter Steve White and The Steve Prescott Foundation.

Rob Mayor, from Kinderton, will be joining his daughters Rachel and Alex to take on the 1,000 mile challenge in just 14 days to raise much needed funds for three different causes.

One cause is to help raise funds for Steve White, from Eccleston, who was diagnosed with an aggressive life-threatening tumour called glioblastoma multiforme wild-type in July 2016.

He did not realise he was living with the life limiting condition until he suffered seizures while away celebrating his 16th wedding anniversary with his wife Katheryn.

Fundraising efforts, which included Steve and friends cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats, raised more than £100,000 for the 45-year-old to have treatment in India called Dendritic Cell therapy.

However in May 2018 he received the news that the tumour had grown and had a second surgery. Despite this on Friday, September 21, he was told that the tumour had returned.

He's currently having immunotherapy treatment in India to fight off the disease.

The second charity is The Steve Prescott Foundation which was established by the former Saints player in 2007, before his death in 2013 from a rare form of abdominal cancer.

The charity helps people fighting disease and illness, as well as hospitals which support them and sportspeople affected by serious injuries.

They will also be raising money for The Cholangiocarcinoma Charity.
