A WARRINGTON bishop has set up two more charitable projects in Pakistan to help disadvantaged residents.

Reverend bishop Yousaf Nadeem Bhinder, from Orford, is the founder of His Grace Churches International which strives to establish churches and projects around the world.

During the summer, Yousaf and his team set up five sewing centres in villages in Pakistan which offer women and girls training and skills.

It is hoped they can then get jobs in factories or start their own small businesses.

The team also completed their first water project at Francis-Abad in Punjab which provides 5000 people with clean water.

After four days of work and digging 420 feet down through sand and stone, the team were able to build the pure water supplier.

Yousaf said: "The situation is getting worse and people are suffering because of dirty polluted water.

"80 per cent of Pakistani citizens are using a hand pump for drinking water as normally people can only afford water at 30-70 feet deep.

"However, the laboratory test reports say the healthy drinking water is 400-500 feet deep down on surface. We hope for more good finance so that we can provide more pure water."
