Tailbacks on the M6
MOTORISTS are being warned of severe delays on the M6 after a crash near to Haydock.
Traffic reports say one lane is closed and there are severe delays due to the accident on the M6 southbound at junction 23 with the East Lancashire Road.
North West Motorway Police tweeted that four vehicles had been involved in the crash, which took place at around 6.25am this morning.
Tailbacks are to junction 26 at Orrell and there are reports of delays of more than one hour.
The lane is expected to clear between 11.45am and midday, when normal traffic conditions are expected to resume.
