THE sudden unexplained death of 13-year-old schoolgirl Eboney Cheshire has caused shock and heartbreak to Star readers.

Police were called to Sandon Close, Rainhill on Sunday at 11.40am after Rainhill High pupil Eboney was taken ill.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1.20am on Monday.

Readers took to social media to express their shock and pay tribute to the young girl.

Bernadette Henry said: "Can't believe this gorgeous young girl so sorry for Kerry and Leon."

Angela Audley added: "Just can't imagine what your going through its so so sad. Absolutely heartbroken for you all.xx

Kim Gallimore said: "Thoughts go out to the family. I have a daughter the same age and can’t imagine what they must be going through right now."

Liam Cronin added: "Such sad news. Rest In Peace, you little angel! x"

On Tuesday night, Eboney's family and friends released balloons in her memory.

Kerry Williams, Eboney's mum wrote the following tribute: “My beautiful baby girl, I love you with all my heart.

"I am broken and can’t think of a life without you. I don’t want to see tomorrow, I just want you back in my arms. You are my best friend, so funny, full of character and so popular. I’m broken without you and our lives will never, ever be the same.

"My baby girl, I love you more than life itself and your brother is heartbroken. Fly, my beautiful princess. Your mummy is heartbroken. I hope you realise how much I love you and how I would have swapped places with you in a heartbeat. I begged them baby girl, but they wouldn’t let me. xxxxxxxxxx

“We all want to thank everyone who came and supported us in the balloon release and now ask that we are left in peace to grieve.”

The cause of Eboney’s death remains unexplained after a post-mortem examination and the investigation is ongoing.
