COUPLE celebrating after winning £60,000 combined after both winning the People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize.

Stephen Curd, 57 and Paula Zullo, 54, from Pine Dale in Rainford, were two of four winners in their street after playing separately winning £30,000 each on Sunday, December 2.

Stephen Curd, a company director of an electronics business, said: “It’s still sinking in – we’ve never won anything before. It’ll be lovely to be able to relax over Christmas and not have to worry about the extra expense.”

The couple have four children between them, with one tying the knot last month and two due to get married next year.

He added: “This couldn’t have come at a better time with two weddings on the horizon. We’ll be able to help the children out and maybe treat ourselves too.

"I think a nice holiday next year will be on the cards.”

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt presented Paula and Stephen with their cheques and passed on her congratulations: “I’m thrilled for our winners this weekend - what a great start to December for Paula and Stephen. It sounds like they’ll be having a great 2019 with two weddings and holidays to enjoy.”

The other two winners were not available to receive their £30,000 cheques, however the money will be paid into their bank accounts meaning the neighbours won £120,000 combined.

With a minimum of 32 per cent from every ticket going to charity, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have now raised £361 million for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A number of Rainford charities have benefitted from the funding raised by players, including Warrington Youth Club which recently received £13,576 to expand their mental health programme for young men.
