A COUNCILLOR has hit out over an "inconsiderate" parker blocking a footpath near to Newton-le-Willows railway station.
Cllr Seve Gomez-Aspron took to Twitter after a BMW car was left blocking a footpath.
Cllr Gomez-Aspron said: “We appreciate that Newton Train Station is a busy area, and the £18m new station and car park should help alleviate historic parking issues in the area when it’s fully open.
"However, blocking the footpath on a blind bend which then forces people into the road is inconsiderate and unacceptable.
"We have asked that the council and the police do a joint exercise in the run up to Christmas to ticket those cars parked on double yellows or obstructing the footpath.
"The whole parking situation around Newton station is due for a full review. But historic issues are no excuse for abandoning your car on the pavement!”
