A PLANNING application seeking permission to build 82 homes at the land at Mere Grange has been submitted.

The plans, drawn up on behalf of Anwyl Homes, want to build a mix of three and four-bedroom homes at the site off Leaside.

The application states: "The submitted plans promote good design, creating a housing scheme with an excellent layout and appearance.

"The design will deliver quality homes that are well-connected to existing local services and sustainable transport options.

"The design includes the retention of areas of public open space and good landscaping.

"Existing and future occupants will benefit from good levels of residential amenity".

Plans say the development would be "a reduction in the number of units" which had previously been granted outline consent by

the local planning authority but that full permission was being sought due to the proposed relocation of the vehicular access in the plans, which will be taken from Leaside.

Standard consultation on the plans lasts until Christmas Eve.
