A MAN was allegedly attacked with an axe yesterday morning, Tuesday, in an assault carried out by a group of men.
Police were sent to Shaw Lane in Prescot at around 4am after reports of a disturbance where one of the men involved in the attack was accused of assaulting the victim with an axe.
The victim was taken to hospital with arm injuries where is condition is described as non-life threatening.
A weapon matching the description mentioned in the report was recovered close to St Luke's Church in Prescot.
Two men in their early 30s have been arrested in connection with the incident
Officers are undertaking CCTV and forensic analysis.
