A COUPLE who are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary say the key to a long and happy marriage is being “easy going and focussing on the positives in life.”
Jenny and Larry Pilkington from Grange Park who married on the November 18 1958 in St Peter’s Church in Parr have had a long and happy life together, with four children, seven grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild adding to their family.
Jenny, 80, and Larry 85 have been proud to share their news – and were “overwhelmed” after receiving a letter from The Queen to mark their special day.”
Their son Garry Pilkington, 59, said: “They are so proud and don’t stop talking about their letter.
“They say their secret is being easy going and focussing on the positives in life.
“It’s lovely to know they have been together through thick and thin – mum had a stroke recently so it’s nice to celebrate this.”
