A CAMPAIGN to help stretched emergency services this winter has been launched by NHS facilities in the area - with the backing of celebrity support.

The campaign, Let’s Do It Together, is appealing to people across the region to keep emergency services free for those that need them most.

Actor Ray Quinn, Radio City’s Leanne Campbell and Dave Kelly and Simmo and Rossie as well as TV’s Paul Crone and Ann O’Connor from Granada Reports have all pledged their support to help the NHS this winter.

To kick start the campaign, a week of action on social media platforms will run from today (Monday) until Friday, December 7 and go behind the scenes at, Pharmacies, GP practices, Urgent Care Centres and A&E Departments in Merseyside and Cheshire.

Ann Marr, chair of the Mid-Mersey A&E Delivery Board said: “At times of growing demand it is vital that our communities choose the right services when they experience illnesses or injuries.

"We are working with our Pharmacists, Gps, Walk-In centres, Urgent Care Centres, Paramedics and A&E teams to ensure we are available for those that need us most but we can’t do this alone we need the public to help us too, let’s do it together.”
