THIS design by a seven-year-old primary pupil has been selected to become a mosaic mural outside Prescot's Community Police and Fire station.

Year 2 pupil Fryderyk's winning design of a police car outside the new build station will be made into a mural and cemented into the ground outside for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The St Mary's and St Paul's Primary Pupil took his fellow classmates along to the station on Friday, November 23 to celebrate his win.

The purpose-built station, constructed on a former industrial site on the junction of Manchester Road and Cables Way, has accommodated firefighters and the area’s local policing team since January.

Inspector Phillip Mullally, from Merseyside Police, said: "It was a great morning and the children got to spend some time at the new station, sitting in police and fire vehicles and putting us under pressure asking a variety of questions.

"The most difficult being 'Can you arrest dogs'.

"All the children were fantastic and great to see so many smiles and happy faces especially when they were allowed to lock their teachers in the police van cage!

"Thank you to all the people who supported the morning and helped make it possible."
