A 13-YEAR-OLD dancer, who performed on stage with Justin Bieber, is hosting a children’s dance workshop to raise funds to help disadvantaged children this Christmas.

Inspired by St Helens Council’s Toy Appeal, Paisley Kerswell, or Goldie-Lox as she is known in the dance circuit, decided to host her own event for children aged seven and older, with the funds going to pay for toys for others this Christmas.

She will be hosting the dance workshop, which will cover different styles, at Xercise4less on Boundary Road from 1pm to 2pm, on Saturday, December 15, with tickets costing £4.50 each.

All funds will go to buy toys for the appeal.

Paisley, from Eccleston, who attends Jennifer Ellison Fame Academy in Liverpool and Zoo Nation Dance Company in London, said: “I really wanted to do something to help others at Christmas by hosting a dance workshop, so when I found out about the Toy Appeal I thought it was a great idea.

“The gym has been great and even said they will put up a Christmas tree so people can bring presents as well and put them underneath.

“No child should wake up with no present on Christmas - I hope everyone can help me to make their Christmas a happy one.”

The People Service department at St Helens Council has been running the appeal for several years, which provides gifts for children up to the age of 18 who would not otherwise receive Christmas presents.

Items such as rattles, teething rings, books, toys, toiletries and clothing are all welcome but due to health and safety reasons.

Soft toys cannot be accepted and it is asked that gifts are not wrapped.

Collection Points have been set up at: St Helens Town Hall; Atlas House; Wesley House; any St Helens Libraries; Central Link Children’s Centre on Westfield Street; Parr Children’s Centre on Ashtons Green Drive; Fourways Children’s Centre on Burnage Avenue; Thatto Heath Children’s Centre on Brisbane Street; Sutton Children’s Centre on Ellamsbridge Road and Newton Children’s Centre on Patterson Street.

The deadline for donations is Monday, December 17.
