CLONEFEST will return to Sherdley Park next July after the great success of this year's sold-out festival.

The one-day music festival will again feature some of the best tribute bands for a spectacular day of live music and festival fun.

Gracing the stage at next year’s Clonefest will be tributes to some of the biggest names in music including Kings of Leon; Kasabian; The Stereophonics; The Jam; The Rolling Stones; Bob Marley and the Beautiful South/Housemartins.

Headlining the festival this time will be 'The Fillers', the official Killers tribute band whom Brandon Flowers himself has praised.

Meanwhile, DJ and host for the day will be the hugely popular Indie DJ Dave Sweetmore.

The 2018 event was initially devised as a celebration of 20 years of the St Helens-based Stone Roses tribute band The Clone Roses.

The festival became an instant success with a sell-out 4,000 capacity crowd travelling to a sun-baked Sherdley Park to revel in the fun.

CloneFest's success was underlined as it was named the winner of the Imperial Bar & Terrace Arts award at this month's Pride of St Helens awards night.

Festival co-founder Gav Scott said: “The response from the first Clonefest was overwhelming.

"Selling out our first ever festival to 4,000 people was a dream come true and the feedback was so positive we decided that Clonefest should become an annual event.

"We’re hoping that everyone who enjoyed the first Clonefest in St Helens will be back to enjoy the second.”
