The girls, aged from 6-12 years old, took part in a gruelling competition over two days, involving routines on the floor, vault, beam and bars and walked away with several medals.

The girls that travelled to Malta were Grace Hansbury, Kessia Speers, Molly Stevenson, Molly Evans, Tia Ashton, Ruby Kennedy, Isabella Gill, Isabelle Adams, Kelsey Campbell, Heidi Rooney, Maddison Jolley, Charlotte Longworth, Evie Burton, Mia Corless, Zoe Neal and Maizie Ealey.

Head Coach at Widnes Gymnastics Club, Vikkie Wood said “I could not be any prouder of how amazing our girls were at this competition.

“They have trained so many hours for months in preparation for this competition and that really showed in their efforts out in the arena.

“They represented the club impeccably in both their performances and their attitude and behaviour and we are so proud to have them at our club.“Our squad team has only been together for a year so to perform so well in Malta is incredible.

“We are looking forward to working towards our next competitions and seeing just how far they can go.”
