THE line up for Leigh's Christmas lights switch-on event has been announced.

Hometown teenage singer Zoe Unsworth will be performing outside Leigh Town Hall next Thursday for the second year in a row.

The Voice Kids UK star Jake Mckechnie will also return to the stage in consecutive years and will be joined by Westleigh Soul Band, Wigan Rock Choir and Jamie Wooding.

Zoe, 19, said: "I’m looking forward to the switch on. I think it’s going to be a great night that gets everyone into the spirit for Christmas time.

"I always try to get the event into my calendar as I love performing on a home stage."

Leigh Centurions will be present at the event too, which will run from 4.30pm to 7pm.

There will be fireworks set off and a funfair held there as well.

The person tasked with switching the Christmas lights on has not been named.

A reindeer parade will take place in the town centre three days later on Sunday, November 25 at 1pm.

The parade will begin at Spinning Gate car park before making its way to Bradshawgate, Brown Street North, Silk Street and Lord Street.

It will then head back to its starting point.

At Spinning Gate Car Park, there will be a reindeer pen where residents can meet the festive animals, with a funfair set up as well as different stalls.
