A REPEAT offender who stole a bicycle at a train station has been jailed for one week.
John Rolt, of Regent Street, Newton-le-Willows, admitted to stealing the pedal cycle, which is worth £300, at Earlestown railway station on June 20.
The 27-year-old, whose record of committing previous offences was taken into consideration, has been ordered to pay a compensation fee of £200 as well.
Stuart Corrigan, of King Street, Newton-le-Willows, also pleaded guilty to the same charge and has been given a 12-week curfew.
The 47-year-old has been ordered to pay a compensation fee of £200, a victim services surcharge fee of £85 and court costs of £100.
Both defendants were sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
