SAINTS and England wingman Tommy Makinson has won the 2018 Golden Boot.
The award recognises the best performances in international rugby league in the period from the final of RLWC 2017 up to the game at Anfield on Sunday.
The RLIF stated: “Makinson has produced three excellent displays, scoring tries in Denver and Liverpool, creating tries at Hull and throughout he has been immense in defence.”
Makinson scored a hat-trick in the win over the Kiwis at the weekend to add to his try on debut at the mid season test in Denver.
He beat James Tedesco, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Elliott Whitehead to the award and is only the fifth Englishman to win the accolade.
Previous English winners were Ellery Hanley, Garry Schofield, Andy Farrell and Kevin Sinfield.
