HUNDREDS of people have been paying their respects to soldiers past and present this week ahead of the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, which marks the end of fighting in the First World War.

We have had so many beautiful and heart-warming pictures sent in of tributes from communities, schools and groups that we decided to put together a gallery to share with you, our readers.

Displays include poppy gardens, statues, recycled art and more importantly a lot of community spirit.
