A COUNCILLOR is urging residents to report suspicious activity after a flurry of attempted break-ins of vehicles and properties in Eccleston.

People are asked to remain vigilant as a police investigation into the incidents is ongoing.

Eccleston Liberal Democrat councillor Michael Haw issued a warning to residents over the issue on Monday night.

Taking to Twitter, he posted: "There’s been a number of reports regarding attempted break ins of vehicles and properties across Eccleston.

"The police area aware of this and are working hard to catch the culprits. In the meantime they are urging residents to remain vigilant as they continue their investigations.

"As part of their investigations, they have asked people to report any suspicious activity and have stressed the importance of ensuring that all doors are locked and to make sure that all car keys are stored away out of sight."
