THE family of murdered Adam Ellison has made a heartbreaking appeal to the community to turn out at a memorial service nearly one year on from his death.

Former St Helens College student Adam, 29, was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon as he walked home in Prescot on Saturday, November 4.

The former Tesco worker's killers – who had been on board a large motorbike – are yet to be brought to justice.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, October 28, the weekend before the first anniversary of Adam’s death, at Prescot Church, from 3pm.

In a statement released at the weekend, his family said: "A week today is Adam's Memorial Service, nearly a year on since Adam's beautiful soul was taken.

"Adam's family and friends' hearts have been broken since that day but seeing and knowing how much support carries on for Adam a year on will warm their hearts, give them some hope that we will carry on keeping his memory alive and show we will never give up on justice.

"Please come along to remember Adam Everyone is welcome, if you cannot make it or when you go home from the service let’s light a candle for Adam send our love to him up in heaven and share it for all to see that:

"Those we love don’t go away

"They walk beside us everyday

"Unseen, unheard but always near

"Still loved, still missed

"And very dear

"We hope to see you all there, let’s keep strong together."
