REGARDING the Star’s front page story that explained how Spanish train manufacturer Talgo has shortlisted Parkside in Newton-le-Willows as a potential site for its UK base.
This is a chance in a lifetime to bring back heavy engineering back to Newton-le-Willows, this brownfield site has stood idle for too long.
The leader of the council must ensure that a professional presentation is given to Talgo and full support is expected across the political parties.
The infrastructure in the North West must be highlighted – Manchester airport Liverpool Docks the motorway network.
This is essential opportunity to breathe life back into St Helens – failure is not a option.
