I WOULD like to bring up the devastating problem with suicide in St Helens and why more is not being done to help our local people?
I suffer with depression myself and have been at a stage where I was in need of the right support and unfortunately it wasn’t given.
I was told I had to wait six weeks.
It’s not good enough and people in that position haven’t always got six weeks, you can provide tablets and waiting lists but these people are in need now.
Surely the authorities can set up some kind of instant help for people in this mindset?
People in this situation in my experience don’t want to burden family and friends.
It is becoming more and more common in our town. And I just think, why is something not being done about it?
