A 26-YEAR-OLD man who was arrested in connection with a break-in at a coffee shop has been released by police as an investigation continues into a town centre crime spree.
It was reported that a window at Caffé Nero, on Ormskirk Street, had been smashed at about 10.25pm on Tuesday, October 17 before an offender entered and took a charity collection box.
A man, of no fixed address, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of burglary following the incident.
He was taken to a police station to be interviewed and has since been released pending an investigation.
The incident follows a number of burglaries and attempted burglaries currently being investigated by police at properties throughout the town centre.
