IT has become a firm favourite with Warrington residents after reopening at the end of last year.

But now Centre Park pub Goodwin's is also raising the festive menu bar after revealing festive homemade nachos will be on offer this Yuletide.

Topped with chopped pigs in blankets, spicy cheese sauce, cranberry IPA BBQ sauce and crumbled stuffing, the starter has been causing quite a stir on social media after being announced as part of the two or three course festive menu.

It's not the only twist on a traditional Christmas dinner as among the mains is the festive burger accompanied by fries and sprout slaw.

Goodwin's is not the only chain trying to offer something a bit different.

Harvester Apollo in Burtonwood's menu includes The Bah Humburger topped with camembert cheese, cranberry BBQ sauce, a pig in blanket, sage and onion seasoned fries and gravy.

The festive full rack of ribs is also glazed with cranberry BBQ sauce with sage and onion seasoned fries.

And over at the Springbrook in Grappenhall they have got the Snowman Burger - a wild boar and chorizo burger topped with spiced braised red cabbage and slices of Brie.

Topped with a mini pulled rotisserie chicken and festive ‘slaw brioche slider.

This one is also available as a vegetarian option.

You can wash it down with Christmas cocktails including Rudolph’s Winter Warmer for £5.95 - A Christmas mulled gin with a blend of Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger gin, Gordon’s Sloe gin, cinnamon syrup & orange juice served hot.

It may seem early to be talking turkey and pigs in blankets but restaurants are already being booked up for the festive period with The Stag at Walton already fully booked for Christmas Day.

For those that missed out and can't face Christmas morning in the kitchen, the pub is offering Christmas Day takeaway with two courses costing £25 or three for £30.

Takeaways are available from 11.45am until 2.30pm but the full balance and menu choices are due by December 1.
