TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Haresfinch Park for the second time in 12 months.
This is one of the best parks in the borough and needs an effective way of preventing travellers taking over the park in the future and preventing the local residents from enjoying the open spaces.
I am sure word gets around the community that this is an easy pitch for them, so I propose that some form of a barrier be erected across the entrance to the park near the roundabout by the garage which is where they usually get on.
This can be locked when not required by council workers.
I know cost is a concern at the moment but I am sure this would far outweigh the legal requirements that have to be gone through to remove them each time they arrive.
