A MAN has been charged with possession of a knife and shoplifting after police detained suspects following a theft at Wilko in the town centre.
Officers attended a report of a theft at the shop on Cotham Street, St Helens on Tuesday (October 9).
Two men were seen leaving the shop.
Officers detained two suspects on nearby Westfield Street.
A search was conducted and police found a knife with a serrated edge.
Kyle Paladino, 21, of Friar Street, Windlehurst has been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and shoplifting.
He has been released on bail to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 13.
