FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a care home last night, Tuesday.
Three fire engines were called to Bedford Care Home on Battersby Street in Leigh at around 8.20pm where a blaze was found in one of the property's beds.
Crews used two fire extinguishers, a thermal imaging camera, a positive pressure ventilation fan and four breathing apparatus to put out the flames and clear the smoke.
Residents were evacuated from the home where they were checked by paramedics. No-one was injured in the fire.
Firefighters were in attendance for one hour and 20 minutes.
