THE Seven Stars is on the road to being a "great pub again" says its management team as it gave the Star a glimpse of its new makeover.

The Greene King pub on Millbrook Lane, Eccleston has relaunched, enjoying a "soft opening" for its regulars on Wednesday and has officially reopened from today (Thursday, October 4).

The pub says renovations are to centre around an "impressive bar area and improved sports viewing facilities".

Undergoing a design overhaul, the revamped Seven Stars includes significant interior changes, including a new scheme of natural wood with added bursts of colour and textures to create a modern finish.

The pub also has high-quality sound systems from multiple screens throughout the inside of the pub, while the beer garden has extra seating.

The Stars hosts a weekly quiz night on Tuesdays as well as a 'smartphone' quiz on Thursdays.

And each Saturday sees a karaoke and DJ and a live singer perform.

The pub has a team of 16 staff members visible behind the bar - as well as a further five.

Stylish fittings, new tiling and contemporary flooring have also been added to create a brighter environment for guests to enjoy a mouth-watering menu, featuring flame-grilled Signature Steaks and tantalising desserts.

There is also an extended drinks range with additional craft beers and spirits available.

Ian Wafer, general manager at the Seven Stars, said: “The Seven Stars has always been popular with St Helens locals, so we are really excited to be able to provide an even better place for guests to enjoy great food and drink, as well as watching all of the best sporting events.

“The opening was a real success, with everyone commenting on the fantastic revamped interior and improved drinks range. We look forward to welcoming loyal and new guests over the coming months.”

The new-look pub will offer Signature Steak dishes including the Double Dipped Rib Eye: a 10oz BBQ marinated rib eye steak dipped in Texan-style BBQ sauce; with onion rings, mac ‘n’ cheese and waffle fries topped with beef burnt ends in BBQ sauce with Jack Daniel's.

Guests can also enjoy the brand-new Campfire Combo, featuring an 8oz rump steak and charcoal chicken bites, served in a traditional campfire mess tin with fried onions, mushrooms and grilled tomato, along with a large portion of chips, corn on the cob and baked beans in BBQ sauce with Jack Daniel's.

"We had a soft opening with a few regulars and everyone loves it," said assistant manager at the pub Ryan Leadbetter.

"Obviously it brightens the whole place up and it is a lot more spacious and welcoming.

"It is definitely a more welcoming pub with the strong team team we have got.

"It can be a great pub again."
