TWO men have been charged following a van robbery in Whiston.

On August 24, a robbery was reported in which a delivery driver was stopping on Ash Grove, Whiston.

He was struck to the head and the van he was driving was stolen, along with a number of parcels inside.

A report of suspicious activity on Coronation Drive, Whiston was reported later that day and officers attended and three men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery.

As a result of enquiries two men have been charged.

Darren Connor, 30, of Coronation Drive, Whiston was charged with robbery and Peter Yates, 29, of Kingsway, Whiston was charged with robbery and unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle.

Yates and Connor have been remanded in custody and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 28.
