DETECTIVES are investigating allegations an elderly man was taken to a bank to withdraw a large sum of cash by men who claiming to have done work on his house.
It was reported shortly after 2.50pm on Thursday that two men had knocked on the door of the man in Haydock.
Thye allegedly claimed to have completed work on the house, before taking the man to a bank to withdraw a large amount of cash.
Officers attended and arrested and later charged Henry Gaskin, 23, of Lands End Road, Doncaster with fraud by false representation.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Friday, September 21).
He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on October 19.
