A MAN has been arrested after a car was taken from outside a house - and was later seen being driven away from a petrol station without payment.
A silver Renault Clio was stolen from outside an address on Milton Avenue, Whiston on Wednesday, August 29.
It is believed that the keys to the car may have been stolen from the address on a previous occasion.
The Clio was seen later that day at around 3.40pm at Shell Service Station on Warrington Road, Rainhill.
The driver is suspected of making off from the station without paying for petrol.
Following extensive enquiries, police say a 27-year-old man from Prescot has been arrested on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling, a breach of bail and making off without payment.
The man has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
