OFFICERS have been conducting open land searches in parks and playing fields in St Helens as part of knife crime crackdown campaign, Operation Sceptre.
Police searched the King George V playing fields in Haydock this morning, Monday, September 17, as well as the Mesnes Park area of Newton Le Willows.
The week of action, starting today, will not only see officers out searching open spaces, but also PCSO's on hand in the community to hand out crime prevention advice.
