WHAT a tremendous win by Saints at Catalans – it was a genuine show of character and Justin Holbrook was rightly proud of his team.
After what has been a superb season by Saints – with the entertaining brand of rugby synonymous with the red-vee returning – it’s been depressing to read some so-called supporters turning on certain players following a dip in form.
Perhaps a win like the one in France will silence some of the snipers on social media who seem to have been waiting for an excuse to start moaning and calling players.
The champions crown doesn’t come easy, so getting to the grand final and winning it is going to take a huge effort.
It needs all of us, the supporters, to be united. Let’s stop going on about Ben Barba’s potential return to Australia, hope he can recapture his form and make our stadium a cauldron of noise where opposing teams fear.
After dominating the league this season, Saints deserve a spot in the Grand Final.
But we’ll have to earn it.
James,
Eccleston
